I called the Knoxville place that is relatively close to where I live and according to them, they have a bunch of healthy studies right now. The lady said they are doing an anthrax study, asthma, alzheimer's, and smallpox, all for healthy people. I am new to this, so I am not sure what I should look out for with these things. Anthrax sounds scary to me, but they said it was safe...not that they would tell you if it wasn't though I am sure. Someone on here had mentioned a study they were doing somewhere in the south for $6000, which I would LOVE to find, but I can't seem to figure out where that is or what it is, so unless I can figure that out, it sounds like this place is where I will have to start. I am only about an hour and a half away from these people. Is there anything I should look out for as far as which study would be better to get into? The asthma and alzheimer's studies both have 7-9 out patient visits from what the lady said and a few days that I would have to spend the night there. They pay like $1800 and $3200. The anthrax study only has one overnight and only 4 out patient visits, but it lasts for like six months or soing like that and pays $1400. The smallpox one is the one that I think I will try to start with. It has 3 overnights and just one out patient visit. The lady said it was over pretty quick and pays soing like $1200 or so. Any advice on which of these would be the best one to start with? I think I made the lady mad asking all these questions and not signing up to do anything... hopefully they won't hold that against me. I'm just glad they had some stuff for healthy people. I was worried that they wouldn't since none of their stuff was on the app. Thanks in advance!

i just saw this from a few weeks ago. so what did you decide?
"The anthrax study only has one overnight and only 4 out patient visits, but it lasts for like six months or soing like that and pays $1400."
stay away from long low-payin studies; look for high paying short studies. since you can only do one at a time and you need to wait 30 days between studies; the longer it takes the less you make.
look at the jalr main page, decide what is close enough for you to go to, call those places see what they have, then start screening till you get in somewhere.

I try and do studies that just have a phone call , usually a week after the study end date, or maybe one f/u . Try to not box yourself in on low paying long studies. It can be challenging especially when there are limited studies close by. They had the anthrax study here in Florida and I passed since it was three hrs away and had the three follow ups. I can do two studies in that time frame that pay more than the 1,400. I did see that NOCCR in Knoxville had a few studies so if they are close to u try and do the one that is the quickest , the follow ups are not spread out over 6 months. I would go there myself if they have a study that has a good inpatient stay with no f/u since I need to fly in. I am sure it will work out. Sometimes u learn more from the trial and error. I did a vaccine study which only paid 150$ and tied me up for 6 months and I missed out on a higher paying patch study. I should have gotten a clue when almost everyone screening left when they realized the study lasted 6 months. Now I always get all the details, reading the consent, before I sign up so that it never happens again. Wishing you good fortune on which ever study you choose.

The lady said they are doing an anthrax study, asthma, alzheimer's, and smallpox, all for healthy people. I know that this was a while ago but I am curious which drug you chose. Any thoughts for loredo on which study you would all prefer? I have done Asthma and Alzeimer's studies and I would go asthma every time. One of the only times I had an intense AE was on an alzeimer's study and so they kinda worry me.

One of our good friends on here is in the record highest known paying study in history and it's for AD(I think it's 24k). Also, do you have the name or code name/number of the drug? Sometimes they are re-studied, and I may wish to avoid it! Thanks I cant believe nobody commented on it yet, but anthrax sounds like a study I'd like to avoid! I too am curious what Loredo picked. I remember trying to coach the kid, and hope it went well for him!!
