to clarify my response a bit and make it more useful to others: for HEALTHY volunteers, most sponsors will be looking for persons with excellent creatinine levels. to achieve the best results for HEALTHY lab results:
1. Drink lots of water 24 hours before, but especially 8 hours before. (Don't overdo it and make yourself sick however.)
2. Avoid red meat and large amounts of protein if you have a screening coming up.
3. Definitely do not exercise a lot the day before screening, or ideally, 3 days before screening.
there are other suggestions online such as dandelion root tea. the only practical one i found was to drink chamomile tea, which is readily available and very mild. (i have zero idea if it helps or not.)
in the more rare instance that one is trying to get into a Match study and needs to have LESS healthy creatinine levels, in to meet a sponsor's particular request for a person with mild to moderate kidney issues, just do the opposite: restrict your water intake, eat a hamburger or two, and exercise!

Soak in an Epsom Salt Bath the evening before and the morning of screening while sipping on bitter melon tea!

Soak in an Epsom Salt Bath the evening before and the morning of screening while sipping on bitter melon tea! Youve used that exact response for 2 different problems. I'm not sure what the mods think about that. Are you going to try to sell me colloidal silver next?

Thanks for info on healthy match. I exercise but drink a lot of water so for the "reg" healthy studies I always drink chamomile tea for 3 days pre screen no alcohol no exercise and lots of water and my labs have been good.
There is a place near me looking for healthy match so i will try the low creatine: no water exercise and red meat.

!!!!!!! if you are going to try for a HEALTHY match, you need to drink LOTS of water, do NOT eat animal protein --especially NOT red meat -- and do NOT exercise more than usual.
only do the reverse if you are trying for a study where the sponsor wants someone classified as having MILD kidney issues (like MOST older persons) or MODERATE kidney issues. although clinics that specialize in testing kidney and liver meds do need persons in those categories from time to time, the recruiter will usually bring it up. mostly they too want HEALTHY matches.
there are 2 main formulas used in determining what a person's creatinine level is, so the terms "high" and "low" can be confusing. most all clinics on this board want HEALTHY, so again, just aim for LOTS of WATER (but don't overdo) NO animal protein NO strenuous exercise
this is really important. i already confused a good friend of mine and i feel awful about it. i wish i never mentioned what to aim for if one is trying for a MILD or Moderate Healthy Match study since only a few clinics look for volunteers for those, whereas 99% of studies want volunteers with HEALTHY creatinine scores.
it may help if you remember that it is easier for the kidneys to function with plenty of water so that is the reason for drinking plenty. plus the kidneys have to work harder to excrete the byproducts of eating meat and other animal protein, so that is the reason to avoid meat a few days before a screening. this is a simplified explanation, there is lots of info on the internet re kidney function.
message to Vark: it may be best to redact anything i have ever said about creatinine. i feel terrible to have caused confusion. my useless explanation is that i am in a study and wasn't feeling that well. live and learn.

Thanks for the update, there is a clinic 2 hrs from me that does mainly healthy match so I was going to try and screen. I do exercise a lot so the reasoning behind red meat and exercise makes sense. It is a little crazy figuring out the best strategy so thanks for the input.
