If I call a company and tell them that I no longer want them to have my profile... Do they delete everything so that there is no record of me ever participating there?

Hello,
I'm the host of the award-winning podcast "Issues Tank" at WFUV, an NPR-affiliated station in New York City. My team and I explore issues that are of interest to millennials. For our latest episode, we're taking a look at millennials who participate in drug trials. I was hoping you would be able to connect me with participants to interview. I would love to meet up with participants in the New Jersey or New York City area, if you know of any doing trials there.
I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have. You can reach me by email at gmcgovern@wfuvnews.org
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Thanks, Gabrielle

No when you sign an informed consent and any procedures or answers are a medical history. They can deactivate your profile as not to contact but not erase any medical record of your screening/ results. If you are trying to call the same company they would have your still have your record

They can deactivate your profile as not to contact but not erase any medical record of your screening/ results. If you are trying to call the same company they would have your still have your record I see what you're saying, but the OP never explicitly mentioned having signed any informed consent(it does seem implied though). Maybe they did, but I have a number of profiles at places I have never even screened at, let alone done a study. I guess the OP may have to clarify if they have done an informed consent. Even if they have, I guess we might want to ask what they mean by "profile". Beyond that though, It would be helpful to examine the "privacy policy" and whatever other agreements you made when you created your profile(if you created it online, vs over the phone, which is another issue). If you can't find that information on the site, simply begin to create a dummy profile and get to the part that includes that information, and then read it, before you cancel your dummy profile. Alternately, you could simply call the clinic, state your question, wait patiently to get to the right person(which may require a call back on one party's part), and find out from an authoritative source. I hope the OP, and maybe some lurkers as well, find this useful. Best wishes with your quest, OP! (I guess a decent question to help with the answers may be to ask what your objective for doing so would be)

Maybe you can the recruiter yourself, and the recruiter will tell you NO. I laughed out loud at that, thanks.

It's become apparent why newcomers don't join the conversation and you're as naive as my mother if you think that everything is black and white. There are many things that you will not be told or find out simply by asking a recruiter (which I have done). I was gunning for my information.... Quite honestly- that's fine with me The ignorance of others gives me more opportunities and more money
