I realize it's on the sponsor, but it's great when study sponsors actually tell you the study drug name so you can research it a bit if you wish. I wish it were more standard. Thank you for that Kerri, and I'd appreciate if you'd express my sentiment to thesponsors who dont provide us with the study drug name. I'm just speaking for myself, but I like to know what Im putting in my body before I spend 2-300$ on a trip to go to a screen. I wish places were like the new haven site that posts the informed consent packet. To me, that's doing us a solid. Im reallly grateful for things like that.

This study is broken up into 3 legs back to back. Is each leg and elimination period for the next? So it it more like maximum payout will be 9500. Does anyone know what the projection is for how many will make it to the end. A bonus of 2500 is a big chunk to lose.

Ive heard radio label studies tend to stay toward the lower end of the range, but I have no idea how true that is overall. Maybe some others will chime in.

I’ve encountered several of these situations, including one that would only say it was a “cancer drug.” This means I would have to take time off, travel, etc to screen for a situation in which I could experience anything ranging from nothing (if it were a double blind placebo) to serious toxicity, hair loss, and other serious side effects known to accompany many cancer drugs. I consider it unethical not to reveal enough information so we can evaluate our interest before we arrive (potentially wasting everyone’s time and sponsor’s money) and I certainly won’t spend time and travel on any study that will not inform me of the drugs Ill be ingesting without enough basic info so I can make an informed choice.

It seems sponsors and a lot of the clinics don't want to reveal too much because then there would be too many people (who have to fear severe side effects) who opt out. I know that the alternative is actually that a lot of people who fear the drug toxicity will opt out anyway but then they will have gone to the clinic, screened wasted time and also wasted the time of the staff. It seems sponsors and/or the clinic staff want people who would feel that they have to do the study since they already put time and some money into screening. It is entrapment. The clinics will get a few of these people who they otherwise may not get but probably the clinics will also mainly get very desperate types who want the money to more booze and drugs and will not be the best fit for the protocol of the study.
BTW, I almost did a study at Biotrial. It is a state-of-the-art newer type of building but volunteers get no scrubs, nor are there laundry facilities . I guess that if volunteers stay in-house for several weeks in a row, the staff might provide laundry service in that they will take volunteers' clothes, have them laundered and return the clothes to the volunteers but that may be done only every seven or so days as is typical in other clinics in which there are no self-use laundry rooms. A friend of mine did a study in Biotrial in which she had her own room but she said at night the place was deserted and if she needed any nurse or someone to help her for some reason, it would be hard to find a staff member in such a large place. She also said that for that study, there was a return in which when she arrived on time, the entire building was closed because no staff person came yet and also it was not so easy for her to get her final pay.
That was what I best understood of what my friend told me and it was a few years back. I would not know if it is still the same.
