Hello all. My name is Rod and I write for Chicago Magazine. We are doing a story on clinical research and the healthy people who make a living or a portion of their living participating in phase 1 studies. I came across this site and wanted to reach out to the community to gauge interest in participating in the piece, which will appear in the April issue. We are looking for 3 or so people who would be comfortable discussing how they learned about this sort of work, why they do it, and the experiences they have had along the way. This will be an honest and informative piece that can enlighten the general public to the importance of volunteers as part of the drug testing process. But the goal is also to profile the personalities of the individuals who choose to participate, while also sharing how the volunteer process works and the variety of opportunities that exist. Here are some examples of my past work for the magazine: www.chicagomag.com/topic/?archive=rod-oconnorIf you are interested, please respond here and we can ue the dialogue and, for those interested, perhaps exchange contact information as appropriate. Thank you in advance and Happy Holidays.

I have talked with this guy. He needs one more source who has done studies in chicago, for his editor to approve the story, so drop him a line.
