Strange there are presently no posts for PRA International, such a large facility. Maybe I know why and am not scared to share it:
I have done many studies. When I screened with PRA the first time, the nurse drilled in my head that I better not do other studies because they will find out. This told me that they do not find out, and tell you that because they do not trust you to begin with. Then he talked about how I could not post anything about PRA or the study, that doing so "in today's world could be met with serious legal reussions." Thinking of the First Amendment and freedom of speech, this told me they didn't want others to know how they did things. If I get sued because of this so be it. I’ll give y’all my “cell number” and you can write me.
When in the group consent and questioning room I asked my one simple question: "How does the drug work?". The person talked about the study, but did not answer the question. When I politely asked it again, the gal excused herself. I thought she must have been going to get someone more knowledgeable, regardless that it turned out she was the physician’s assistant. Next came in another worker, and I was whisked away to meet separately with the doctor. Why would they not want to answer it in front of everyone else I wondered? Needless to say, I did pass and was invited on study but promptly turned it down. Strange that this place is the size of Quintiles and huge, yet there are only four studies going on currently. Makes me wonder . . . . .
