Consumer Product Testing?
It is in Fairfield (not Fairlawn) NJ. I don't see it listed in JALR. After saying that, they have very low paying studies. They mostly do skin care product studies. No overnights. They often take people older than just 45 but rarely older than about 65. Often their studies require you return several times and the pay would not leave you ahead if you have to travel there. It is not hard to get there from NYC. It takes a half hour bus ride. But then you get off at a certain location where it can be hard to cross the highway and you might have to walk several blocks in one direction to get to a cross street with a street light and then walk back. You also have to walk through a certain long and rather obscure dirt roadway to get to CPT (unless you have a car).
It seems that the studies there are mostly good for people who live near enough.
You can sign up to get emails about upcoming studies but again, they rarely have ones that pay enough for the involvement. On rare occasion, yes. I once did a study which paid $200 for only 3 or 4 visits (from what I now best recall) and they were about a week apart and one of the visits was the screening. Furthermore if you get a skin irritation you would be taken out of the study but still paid the entire amount which is what happened to me when I did a facial cream study there a few years back. I came out ahead by some $160 roughly.
The staff wanted me to go back one more time to see the dermatologist there because of the skin irritation but I declined because it would mean another $16 round trip to the facility.
This kind of study is very rare though. Also I don't think that they always give you the full amount if you have to be taken out of the study.
And another thing, you have to go there to sign up in person before they write you down in their databases, or that is the way it was when I did one study there.
It seems they should realize that some people have to travel to get there and they ought to pay more than just $49 for a three-visit study.
If they paid about $500 for a six visit study or $300 for s four visit study it would be more fair to the volunteers but then I guess the sponsor decides the pay. Maybe.
When I was new to being a lab rat, I looked up a lot of skin-study places in different states ( in the US). It seems that a lot of states have a facility or other that is like CPT to carry out low-paying skin-care-product studies.
