I AM LOOKING FOR CERTAIN DISCUSSIONS I CONTRIBUTED TO. ONE VERY RECENT ONE ABOUT NALTREXONE STUDIES SEEMS TO HAVE BEEN COMPLETELY REMOVED. HOW DO I GET THOSE DISCUSSIONS BACK OR ACCESS THEM? THE PEOPLE WHO RUN JALR OUGHT TO PROVIDE A WAY. SOMETIMES IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON STUDIES TRAVEL ETC CAN BE LOST.(CAPS STUCK)

i'm a moderator although i've been less active for a few years. i'm getting back into lab ratting jut recently. i have not been censoring or deleting threads, except rarely some spam, ads for pills usually. our current owner david grey rarely posts here except to list studies. i suspect he would delete threads if asked to by his customers. who knows. when paul ran he site there was one time we had a database failure and lost everything, about 5 years of the forum. so if somebody knows how to make a backup that would be useful.

On more than one occasion there has been deleted threads or posts in JALR that I could not find again. Sometimes the person who made the post deleted it. Sometimes it seems the people in charge, the moderators or webmasters might have done it. It is hard to really know. I once took the precaution of copying the text of directions to a clinic and I am so glad I did because it turns out the person who posted the directions eventually deleted and even after I contacted him/her about it, s/he said s/he could not recall ever posting the directions but when I sent him/her a copy of what I copied then s/he remembered and said that s/he did indeed delete it but essentially could not even recall why. Maybe at the time, the poster feared that other lab rats would create competition for him/her if they knew the exact travel directions to the clinic which was rather difficult to travel to if a person does not live nearby. However this time I was caught off guard. I should always copy or cut and paste any post I make that I want to read over again or anyone else's I even went so far to look for any way to recover any kind of lost content on the internet. Say that a website suddenly closes down. There are certain websites to look for deleted content such as threads, posts, and entire websites. There is soing called "Internet Archive" and you might be familiar with it . There is also "Wayback Machine" which is also , at least partially, to find anything that has been lost on the internet. It is possible to find things that have been posted since the very beginning of the internet. There are millions of entries. That being said, there is still much that cannot be found for different reasons. One being that the particular website or online forum or whatever has to somehow have been "archived" or soing like that. I cannot explain it precisely. Judging form my findings, it seems possible to have the website archived so that in the future if anything , or at least certain things are deleted accidentally or perhaps because of viruses or whatever, it may be possible to find at least some of what has been lost. See links below if they work. Of course I found what seems to be contradictory information as to whether or not internet content can or cannot ever be deleted . I once found exactly what I was looking for when a website completely closed down. I used one of the links below. However for the lost content on JALR, I was not so lucky. https://www.reddit.com/r/explainlikeimfive/comments/5wmx2m/eli5_what_does_the_saying_that_nothing_ever_gets/ www.quora.com/Is-anything-ever-really-deleted-from-the-internetwhyy.org/articles/if-its-online-its-not-permanent-internet-archives-can-disappear/www.makeuseof.com/tag/saving-web-nothing-gets-deleted-internet-ever/www.labnol.org/internet/recover-deleted-webpages-from-internet/6529/archive.org/post/400220/how-to-restore-an-entire-websitehelp.archive.org/hc/en-usarchive.org/search.php?query=subject%3A%22FILE+RECOVERY%22archive.org/web/help.archive.org/hc/en-us/articles/360004651732-Using-The-Wayback-Machine
