Quintiles does NOT do overnight courtesy stays anymore for ANY REASON......not prior to screening, not prior to checkin, not in between two study periods, and not for followups......Never....they have said this is due to liability concerns and capacity issues.

You CAN be from out of town, no longer have to live within 300 miles.
Hemoglobin and red blood cell counts have been a big issues lately for the men, not sure why. A few had to go home even after being selected for dosing the night before, the backups took their place just 1 hour prior to dosing. I suggest drinking plenty of water in the 2 days prior to checkin. Also, if you are not feeling well, postpone your screening a day or two to let your system clear......White blood cell counts were high in 3 guys, often triggered by traveling to the study when you're from far away (like exposure to people on a bus or train)
All is still the same, yes screening still influences selection for checkin, and this of course in combination with your labs at screening AND at checkin determine your chances. However, due to a lot of not so great labs from men, I got selected for checkin and dosing, despite being the absolute last to screen and even having a blood count repeat. So it can be a roll of the dice, but hey that's the game right.
Simply put, FOLLOW the study diet and lifestyle guidelines prior to checkin, eat healthy, drink water, and don't exercise for it will raise cpk levels.....cheers!
