Hello all Washington natives and others.
Does anybody know if Washington ever had any studies available for healthy patients?
-I have not been able to locate any. Any and all information will be greatly appreciated. I will also offer rideshares for willing participants.

Your best bet is to go to clinicaltrials.gov and go to the advanced search. Search term "Healthy", select state Washington, choose 18-65 (presuming you are in this age range), select Phase I, hit search..... bodda bing bodda boom 14 studies currently recruiting. I've found numerous trials that do not appear on the JALR list this way.... Universities, small CRO's, etc.... I can put you in direct contact with study number 1 recruiter.... UW is doing a study with LA Biomedical.... Hope this helps

There used to be the one in Takoma, WA. Charles River, I think, was the name. Do they still exist? I remember calling them a few times but the pay was always really low so I never went there.

Does anyone know why these smaller places from clinicaltrials.gov are not posted on the JALR main page? Is it because there are too many of them, or maybe because they don't do that many studies relative to the bigger operations like Covance, Celerion, etc?

I am new to Phase 1 clinical trials so I am trying to learn as much as I can .
Location: Florida
I mainly do: Healthy Studies
# of studies I have done: 3
A little about me: I am just getting started in clinical trials . Became unemployed and was doing small outpatient studies until someone told me about Covance and it has ed up a new world of making money.
So I am trying to do more inpatient studies and am hoping to do even more next year.

I do not why the smaller study places are not list BUT that is why I search everywhere that I can to possibly find a study and word of mouth is so important. Your study friends will know about a study and pass it on before the screening dated get filled. That is why I always say make ad many friends ad you can while in house and keep your ears .
Maybe some facilites are small and or they have enough people already knowing about the place so they have a data base of study volunteers and they do not need to advertise. The best thing is to find out about as many search sites as possible and I sometimes just try and google search by state. I do like the clinicaltrials.gov you can search by state, age, healthy, currently recruiting etc..

I'm a bit more reserved, like when the Edward Norton character in American History X was in prison, and said he kept his head down and did the rest of his time. I mean I'm friendly and will talk with about anyone, I just dont go out of my way to initiate that often. Anyhow, if you want to send me a private message about any places youve heard about, I'd be very grateful!!
