I like to dable in a few patient studies at UofC when i'm between phase 1s but the pay seems way too low. I did a MRI for an hour and some cog test after and was only paid $50! granted it was a free MRI (and they said they would alert for any brain "abnormalities") which is a nice perk but i'm not to motivated to do one again for that little money. Do any of the other research universities in the Midwest tend to pay higher for MRI studies..or patient studies in general?
*note i am healthy but prefer to classify these university studies under patient...since most of them are for people with conditions

How long did the cog test afterwards take? If you were there for say 2 hours and got $50, that's pretty good to me. $25/hour. Can't make that working in retail, which is what I used to do.

I did 2 cog and MRI studies at U of Penn last couple months. The straight cog paid $20 to ask questions about oobers (don't ask) on screen. The other one was a Gates and you do cognitive testing then an MRI and it paid $45. I think these clinical testing series at universities do pay low all around. in Phila I would expect to get at least $75 for 3 hours -- 1 hour in an MRI and the cognitive testing phase was 1 1/2 hours (plus it takes me about 1 hour to get there by transit). It was not worth the time but then again it's slim pickins for me to get anything that pays like a "real" clinical trial so I farm what I can get, do market survey stuff in between and pray a lot! : )
