vtc only shows if you are in a study or a washout, not any of the details.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vertus_Hardiman#:Hardiman was born in Lyles Station, Indiana.[2] In 1928, he attended Lyles Consolidated School where he and nine other children were severely irradiated during a medical experiment conducted at the local county hospital. To get parental consent the experiment was miepresented as a new therapy for the scalp fungus known as ringworm. The radiation of the skull led to immediate symptoms but also to a severe progressive necrosis of the bone throughout his life.

the irb should help. getting paid on time is part of informed consent; it's not just breach of contract, it's battery, when they don't live up to the agreement they made by which you let them take your blood. covance has always been unclear on this point.
we should make a list of the irbs for each site. for example, does anyone know the irb for [heh, censorship happened. that place in waukegan.]

it's nice for a change to report on a clinic doing soing right. i made an appointment today with a place in kansas for a study screening. they emailed me the consent form the same day. this is a "best practices" that some of the other clinics refuse to do. i have not done a study yet this year. i took a day job, and i'm getting older and it's hard to find studies, but i have a couple of screenings lined up.
edit a few months later: i did not get into those two studies. have not had a study all year, blood pressure has been running high enough that it's not worth it to drive hundreds of miles for a screening and then not get in. so maybe i'm retired from studies. i do plasma and i'm on a list for a study at a local college. i have not been actively moderating this site lately. if soing comes up that needs attention feel free to email me gtbear at gmail.

drvince.com/this is just down the road from the old place in kansas city. new building. their first study will be in august, a covid outpatient study. no referral program "yet." you can get in their database. they have a facebook page. the old place is now altascience, link wasn't working for me today. alta does have some big studies currently. oh there it is participantskc.altasciences.com/

it's a nice neighborhood. you can get a bus from the airport or rent a car. i would not bother going if its going to be competitive calling, because it's too far to bother with that. you could even walk from the airport if it's not during the summer with the 120 degrees.

you can list it as other income. verify this with your tax preparer or accountant, but i think how it works if you put it as other, you don't have to pay fica, but you can't deduct your expenses. the other way is treat it as self-employment income, and you can write off your miles, per diem for out of state travel, certain actual expenses such as hotels, airfare, but then pay fica on the net.
putting it as other works well for someone like you who has a day job. studies are my main income most years so i can't really put it as other. i don't know how many studies you do.oh full time lab rat. hmm. suggest you run this by a tax planner.

667-210-5300 should work. try during business hours and call back till they answer. it may take patience. they are not famous for being well-organized.
i am here now for a long study. same old parexel.
