Do they check your bags and toiletries for contraband? (ie if I brought protein bars, vitamin D capsules, exercise bands would it be found and cause me to be disqualified?)
Do you have to wear hospital gowns, or can you bring your own clothing?
Do you shower/bathe in a shared locker room, or private bath?
I have recently registered for a long term study with celerion in AZ, and am wondering what to expect.
Many thanks for those of you with prior experience that can share!

I have never been to this particular clinic but I can say that, yes, your bags will be checked and those items will not be allowed. You may not be disqualified. You may just have the stuff taken away until the study is over. Most clinics you bring your own clothes but there are a couple where you have to wear scrubs that they provide. I'm not aware on any clinic where you shower in full view of other people. Long stays can be very difficult. You will be sharing a room with several other people. There will be noise nearly all day and night and sleep will be hard to come by. It is not an easy job. You will have to eat food you don't like and spend many hours with people you don't get along with. You will also get stabbed in the arm dozens of times and likely a few of those draws will be messed up by staff and be extra painful. Make sure to have soing to pass the time like a laptop/tablet or a couple books. Bring earbuds so you don't disturb others around you and also to help block out noise from other people. Good luck.

Fuzzy, I cant speak for that place either, but AC is on the money here. Some places do check harder than others, even 2 different Covances. The one in Dallas destroyed the folding of all of my clothes and checked every crevice of everything like it was a prison check. The only thing missing was a cavity check, so I suppose you have that option...and then just read which days you have to give UAs once you get your schedule, and plan accordingly. Since the price of your study(I"m assuming the longest one?) jumped today, it stopped me right before I was about to test my tolerance for another study, and consider doing the same study your in(I would have been disqualified if I tested my tolerance for what was in this other study, so I have a major decision to make probably within 12 or so hours ). It's a LONG commitment though, but factors other than that are what are eating at my brain now. Best wishes, and who knows, you may be the first member of this forum to meet me, though I am not sure I will introduce myself as Puntkicker, so you likely wouldn't know.

FuzzyRat, have you already made it into the study? Did you have to do the competitive calling? If so, how was it? How long did it take? Did you have others helping you dial? I'm interested in this place, and would appreciate reading about your experience. Thanks!
