Quintiles is the top facility I've been to. Accommodations are great! 10 to a room, hospital beds with privacy curtains, your own nightstand with small storage, your own tv (bring earbuds). Clean showers, as many towels as you want, Scrubs for tops and bottoms, as many as you want. Decaf coffee and tea after 10am (as much as you want). They have a separate guys and girls common area with tvs, dvds, magazines, phones, computers, ice machine, coffee and tea. They will take you outside for a walk, not treat you like a prisoner, but like a human being. They use catheters instead a straight sticks a million times. A real bonus. Parking is monitored by a 24hr security. Pay is by check when you leave. If you have returns you will be paid part of the money each time you come in. General rules about what you can bring in, same as most places, you can bring pillow and blanket. If you dont make it in they call within 3 days, if you do, they generally dont call, you will have to call them. Only downside would be if you live more than 4 hours away they will not let you apply for studies with multiple returns. They are VCT as of June 2016.

Thanks for the information. I live in Florida so am a little Leary of going out of state. I am looking for inpatient with a phone call or one return visit. I appreciate you sharing because I have heard many horror studies about some places and don't want to find out once I am in that the place sucks. So far have only been to places in Florida but will share info. If and or when I travel. For my, screening out of state will be costly but I am willing to take a chance since there are limited facilities in Florida. Again, thanks for sharing it looks like a place I would feel safe and comfortable and I think I can fly into Kansas City pretty easy. I think there is a place called Vincent And Associates as well have u been there.

vince is a very nice place right near quintiles. there's also pra. however, i have found vince hard to get into and they get pissed off if you screen at quintiles or pra at the same time. they are all hard enough to get into that you could easily lose money only screening at one. it's kind of a catch 22. quintiles does have lots of studies. kc is a town where we found we could get couchsurfing.com places to stay with a bit of advance planning.
i've gone to kc to screen for vince and they cancelled the screening and didnt tell me. it was my bad fir not calling first but i'm still annoyed. another time i got to kc and they said oh we moved the screening to tomorrow. so get refundable tickets if you fly. and when you do a study, save 1/2 to 1/3 to cover screening expenses for the next study.

Thanks Vark, I know Southwest will let u change your tickets . So what if u screened first at Vince and then screened Quintiles the following day? How would Vince know? And u are right screening does not mean you are in the study and if I have to fly and get a hotel and poss car rental then I would want to screen at least two facilities. I have a friend and we try and screen together so I would have a person to splint the hotel and car rental with. So to travel the study needs to pay at least $5,000 to be worth my while or maybe even more! I would have 2 round trip plane tickets plus at least 2-3 hotel nights and possible car rental or uber .

I see where youre coming from, but I personally would do it for much less. It's just a personal preference. I'm not sure which airport you use, but Ive seen round trip for $151(Frontier), and KC is closer to FL than me. I know I've had good success on my screens so far, so I suppose that factors in. I was actually hoping to fly down to do a study in DB, but it's looking like I may have to retire soon, if not already. I'm not sure if I will be missed around here, but I will miss the short lived lifestyle. Well, there are some parts I wont miss, thats for sure. Anyhow, I just wanted to say I wish more of my competition set the bar as high as you, because I'd have better odds of getting into the studies.

Well PK I think I am going to be lowering my bar. Have called everywhere in Fl and the only study is the Covance DB ADD study with 75 blood draws So yr right I am now thinking anything over $3,000 would be ok since I am making $0 dollars sitting at home.
