I recently was sterilized under general anesthesia. How long do I have to wait at Covance to screen? Does it depend on the study or do they set a certain length of time for ALL studies? I called and they seemed unsure of the answer they gave me, which was 3 months. More like 'Ummm... I think its 3 months?' Mmm ok... that helps. Pssht!
Also, can the cost of sterilization be a tax write off? I did it primarily because I want to do more Covance studies and most of them require women to be surgically sterile. True, I don't want kids. BUT, I will be on the depo shot until menopause because periods are such a pain (you don't get periods on depo). So it's not like I had this surgery for my personal life, it's really just for my professional life....if you can call it that.
p.s. Very easy surgery. Highly recommend! Ask for the anti-anxiety med beforehand and you will be flying high my friend.

A little about me: I am just getting started in clinical trials . Became unemployed and was doing small outpatient studies until someone told me about Covance and it has ed up a new world of making money.
So I am trying to do more inpatient studies and am hoping to do even more next year.

Well I am not sure but for sure u need your operation notes with proof of sterilization. Usually at phone screening they will ask u if u have had any surgeries so I am not sure of the waiting period post op. It probably is around three months u could always ask to speak to the study coordinator at the facility.
Not sure about the tax rules but it seems like u could. I am going to try and write off my gym membership since I need to stay healthy for studies.
