i am thinking about traveling from Florida to Evansville. I can fly from Orlando into Evansville and then thought I would stay overnight before screening. Can anyone recommend a hotel close by and is there a shuttle or bus from the airport? Or thinking I could rent a car. any information would be greatly appreciated.

So did you find a hotel? There is a crappy hotel next door but it is closed. I receommend couchsurfing, airbnb.... www.hotels.com has some good deals. I have no idea when the hotel next door is coming back.

Thanks I have not gone up there yet. I messed up because they had a study where the last screening date was two days before check in so I could have just hung out but I procrastinated but still at some point this year will either drive or fly up. I guess once I know I am going for sure I will figure the hotel out would rather do that than couch surfing to be on the safe side but thanks for replying.

There are no affordable hotels near the clinic. Flying here would cost a fortune. Even taking the greyhound is very expensive. Some decent places a few miles away at Lloyd Expressway, or on the road to Henderson Kentucky. There are only gonna be a few more studies here until the place gets shut down.

Thanks. I was looking and yes a hotel was like 66-75 dollars. I would fly into Louisville because I have points on SouthWest and then would rent a car and drive to Evansville so would not cost too much. I am age 55 and have not been able to find a study without a whole bunch of output visits. The study at Evansville had only one so for 4,900 I was willing to take a chance on the screening. Really bummed that it is closing and now wondering about the other Covance clinics. SBNL called me about them being bought out by Pharamox or soing like that. Wondering if things are going to get worse for us, hope not. Thanks for your input, I really appreciate it.

I agree with FG, that's bad news indeed. Have you heard why they're closing, and in about how long? I was actually scheduled to make my maiden voyage there for that $4900 one FG mentioned, but had to cancel. I'm also curious if they are still using clinicard like someone on here said they were last year? Thanks for the information.

From what I understand they will be closing end of July . I am still hoping to do a study before then. I was thinking of doing the price line name your price and take my chances. Anyway if i can fly up for free would be worth it. Daytona had nothing and I cant find anything else near me. And I am getting stir crazy!!!!!

I just screened there May 25 and the staff members said the place is shutting down July 24, which is very disappointing because it's a nice facility and most of the people working there are pretty nice. I usually stay at the Super 8 on Morgan Ave., which is about a 10-12 minute drive. I have an AARP membership, so the rate is about $50 a night and if you have a Wyndham Rewards membership, you can use points you've accrued for discounted rates or free nights.

Thanks I was going back and forth about whether it was worth flying from Fl for screening and then back for the study and then the screen was full and couldn't get an appt and then by then the flights were really expensive for a last minute screening if it became available which they sometime do but maybe they will post a few more before they close. I appreciate the hotel name and pricing just in case. Would rather just go to the Covance here in Florida all but they have had nothing that I can screen for at all, very depressing. Hopefully someone will the facility. Hope your study goes well. 😀
