FYI if you are screening for this study what they fail to tell you on the phone screener is that you have to have a normal high blood Uric acid MUST be over 4.5 but within normal range ( 2.5-7.1) normal range to get in. so I spent all day driving and screening for nothing , looking at past Uric acid levels mine is 3.6 on average. So I am pissed I would have screened for a different study if I knew this information but since they do not pay you for screening I guess they do not care about our travel expenses. i am hoping this will help someone else. I guess I need to start asking if there are any blood values that have to be in a certain range. this is the second time within a week that they have messed me up with screening.

Thanks TR I started calling every clinic near me and just by luck got into a study at OCRC They usually want 60 and older but sponsor just lowered age so they could fill study.
They need men 55 and up So if u know any men have them call Seemed desperate for men i dont really know any.
I am still peeved at Covance. They pay the best and the clinic is nice so always happy to go there. Maybe i can find soing for Nov/Dec there.

Well Vark the PA was super nice when I went in for the physical exam . She told me straight up that I probably would not qualify. She had my labs rushed and called me the next day herself and told me uric acid too low and she had me taken out of that study screening so I could rescreen. So the actual clinic is great but the screeners can never answer all of my questions. If I know someone screening before me I ask them what the consent says in case I want to cancel. But thanks for the info I never thought to call and ask for the study coordinator to answer specific questions.
