Does Vince and Associates call other research facilities like PRA and Quintiles to see if you've done a study there in the past 30 days?

i don't know but it would be wise to assume so. pra and quintiles check with each other and vince is just around the corner from quintiles. i have my first screening there in march.
edited later: i will probably cancel my vince screening since i think i got in somewhere else.
pra and quintiles disclose in writing that they check with each other, i'm pretty sure, so i think it's in the consent you sign. i'm not gonna try and find my paperwork now.
i have a study buddy who ran into a problem with this. he had screened at both places, but not accepted into either study yet. the recruiters at one of the places - i forget which - got mad at him over this, and i think banned him. this seems to me to be unethical; they should not be coercing us by keeping us from screening at other places. that happened to me once at the clinic that cannot be named in indiana; they had told me i was in, but when i happened to mention i had screened somewhere else they withdrew the offer of the study. i didn't want it anyway, too long for the pay involved, but another example of unethical conduct at that place.
- may update: screened at vince and no extra consent form for them to get your data from quintiles/pra. (i don't go to either of those places anyway. the last time i was at quintiles was so long ago it was still called innovex.)

You are positive they do? I have heard this, and pra said they would call the others in the area when i screened for them, but I'm not sure if they are legally allowed to do so without you giving your permission for them to do so. I really don't know, but it would be nice to know for sure.

Oo Ooo. I know the answer now.
Disclosure of health data is by need to know, and no other competitor company needs to know. However, that you have been a study volunteer and when is shared between Q. and P., BUT NOT BY VINCE.
I have heard this from another, and know of someone getting banned going between Q. and P. I screened with Vince and P. at the same time, took one with Vince, then in the middle of it was invited to the P. study. Dr. Vince is smart and doesn't play with the other kids on the block.
P. told me the same thing with force, and drilled in my head that commenting on anything they do could be met with legal reussions. Given freedom of speech, that right there told me they cannot check everyone and do not want others to know about it.
Take care

Got an update on a piece of info, for what it's worth. I had a study buddy go from PRA directly to Q. PRA does have you sign an information release form. Maybe their the only paranoid ones.
