Finding good volunteers is hard, which is why some companies so much radio ad time. If they could get good volunteers by referral it would be worth good money.
That is why several companies have referral programs, and advertise them. With PRA, the dirty secret is that if you are referred by someone, YOU MUST GIVE THEM THE NAME THE FIRST TIME YOU CALL. But how are you to know? Now you know, so don't let it happen to you.
Failure to do so will cost them to miss out. This happened to me. First, they signed me up to screen for a good study then started screening me for a different one that was stupid. Bait and switch? 20 hours fasting and a wasted trip that was. When I screened again and tried to give them the referral name, THEY SAID IT WAS TOO LATE.
And when my data comes back good they are going to want me to be dedicated and follow all the rules and ignore their ethical example? We'll see.
