Parexel throws you out on Day -1. No repeat blood draws.

Greetings fellow lab rats! After lurking here for a while and getting great info, I'm here to return the favor.
I've been lab ratting for almost two years now, and have had positive experiences that I'll document in due time. However, I want to start with a heads-up about a disappointing experience at Parexel in June.
I screened for a $7000 study in June 2013. The consent form stated that alternates who spend the night would receive $150, and if there was no overnight stay $50 would be paid. I honestly glossed over this last part, because I couldn't imagine why someone wouldn't spend at least one night.
Lo and behold, after check-in (which took 3+ hours, in typical Parexel style), the coordinator tells us that the sponsor was accepting NO REPEAT BLOOD DRAWS throughout the entire study. THIS WAS NOT in the consent form. Sure enough, I get told at 5:10 p.m. that my ALT was 48 and that I was being discharged right then.
(What a coincidence - the cheap f**ks discharged people right before dinner.)
The staff member escorting me out told me that normally they would have me drink water and redo the test, but not this time. Back when I did a study there in 2012, they waited until dosing day to discharge people. In fact, I have NEVER seen a place discharge the day of check-in.
Baltimore shuts down by 10 p.m., even in downtown. I traveled a bit to get there, and expected to recoup at least a little bit for staying one night. $50 for check-in and travel? No thanks. It's bad enough this study involved stretches of outpatient visits that should have been inpatient stays, but then this? It feels like someone higher-up is trying to minimize what they have to payout. I will not be traveling to Baltimore again for a mere $50.
After some brainstorming upon discharge, I took the Megabus from D.C. to Knoxville and got into a $4000 study there instead. Even if Knoxville hadn't chosen me for the study after check-in, they would have at least paid me $350 for Days -2 and -1...none of that Parexel bulls**t.
So, be warned and cautious in Baltimore (pun intended)! I'll post a positive review of NOCCR in Knoxville soon.
