I checked in for a study here in 2009 and didnt make it into the study because they said my iron was low. They insisted I see my primary care physician for treatment, which I havent done. Ive participated in in at least 8 studies since then at other facilities and havent had an issue with low iron. Its been over 2 years and I just called for a screening but they demand I see my doctor. I dont have a doctor and dont really care to go just to make them happy. It sucks to not be able to do studies here because I actually liked the facility. Anyone have any tips or advise?

Try finding a nearby lab testing facility, like Any Lab Test. Ask for a CBC (Complete Blood Count) to see where you stand, in terms of your hemoglobin level. I've had this done recently, and paid $49. Results are usually available within 24-48hrs. You can walk in, and don't need to have health insurance. Oh, yeah. Once you get your results in, and you discover that you're just barely skirting above the anemic level, get some iron supplements. I personally use Hema-Plex.

Same exact thing happened to me at a different clinic. They insisted I see a doctor. Then I've done plenty more studies and iron is never an issue. Someone screwed up your blood sample.

I was showing low iron for that particular study possibly due to a previous study having lots of blood draws but havent been told that sense.
