Can a "senior" Lab rat help me: I made a mistake with my medical history I told covance that sometimes I get cramps when I drink milk they put me in the damn computer system As "lactose intolerant" oviously people lie to get into studies... I knew better then to even mention it!! I'm upset they put this now they want me to go to a physician and pay all this money to prove I'm not, I did a study at Spaulding drank milk and did just fine. Anyways does anyone know, I'm married if I can just use my madien name and praticipate in a study at a different covance with my madien name? They are really being jerks about it I explained my situationand they are being extremely mean about it.. Please write back

Here is what you need to do: walk into a staff meeting at Covance, jump up on the table, kick the tablet out of the CEO's hands, then pull out a full gallon of whole milk, whip the cap off, then guzzle the entire gallon while furiously glaring at the president of the company.
P.S. I like the word you made up: madien

Yeah... this sort of thing happens to newbies a lot. They don't realize how much we have to LIE.
My neighbor screened and told a clinic he sometimes gets migraines and takes otc meds for it. Well... that got him in the same boat as you. And now he's so discouraged, he won't screen again... even if they let him. They told him to see his doctor too... and come screen again once his doctor deemed him healthy.
I TOLD him to lie (the majority do) to make it sound like he's healthy as they come. Seriously... you don't want to even mention menstrual cramps or being vegetarian or occasional heartburn. Don't even mention the coffee you drink... seriously... they might make a note that you could go through detox when you check in from not having your fix.
You're gonna have to go to your doctor, as they requested. If you don't have one, go to a walk in clinic. Have them test you for lactose intolerance... if there is such a test. Get paperwork from them, saying you're healthy for studies. When you fax that paperwork to Covance, they will clear you in the system. Wait a day or two... then call for a screening.
Also, you might want to slide in this bit of information.... you haven't had those cramps in over 5 or 6 months... and you're still drinking milk almost every day.

Go do a study somewhere else. Use some of that money to spend around $100 to get the doctor's note they want at covance. Odds are that will fix it and you'll make the money back your first study at covance. It's a gamble but the odds are ok. Covance are weasels, but just play their game. I don't advise people to lie. I just point out that the more honest you are the less money you make. And Covance will lie to you - expect it. Personally I hate drinking cow's milk and get annoyed at the places like that force you to drink milk every day. It's disgusting. But it beats working for a living, so I put up with it.

Unfortunately the answer is always NO No i dont take any medication. NO i dont take vitamins No i dont have any allergies No i dont have any health conditions.
With Covance once u tell them soing it becomes part of your permanent record, even if it is just needing reading glasses. So your best answer is No No No
I hope this will help someone.
