I've spoken to two guys - one of them who has been banned - who've told me that this place has a "two strikes and you're out" policy when it comes to screening; meaning, if you've failed two screenings for whatever reason (i.e., high liver enzymes, abnormal ekg reading, etc), you'll get a lifetime banning that can only be reversed if you've gotten a doctor's note stating that you're fine. Pretty harsh.

Phone rep during my phone screening said I couldn't do any studies because I had a felony. That was in 2008. I wonder if I can try again.

Does anyone remember how they ask the felony question? Is it: have you been convicted of a felony in the past 7 years or have you ever been convicted of a felony?
Thanks.

I would advise anyone to answer the felony question with a "No" do you think is going to conduct a criminal background check?

Yep. For one thing, you're given 20min to finish your meal, and if you somehow finish before then, you'll get docked.

I'm screening there next week. I've made arrangements for short term local housing and expect it to go well. They did tell me that checks are mailed out 4 weeks after study, so there's no quick pay day but they do seem to pay a fair amount... plus $135 for screening. I'll try to post my experiences.

IIRC, they had our checks when it was time to walk out the door (for the study). Most sites will tell you that it'll be X days or Y weeks before they'll get you your check, but that's more to cover their asses.

I just screened today, they seem pretty by the book, but I don't think they were over board. I wouldn't try to sneak anything by them, but as long as you're not trying to smoke a cig or use fake pee (they do a pat down) you're fine I'd say. I don't have any health issues or substance issues, so I really have nothing to hide, but either way, like I said they seem strict as they need to be, but not over the top.
I passed all the initial, I'll know in a few days if I'll admit.
As for housing, I'm at a hotel. I tried to find other lodging but it was hard online, people here with rooms to rent were kinda iffy, I decided to come out here, stay a few days in a hotel and I'm shopping for other lodging now. I'm hoping that actually being here will make the difference. If you private message me I'll give you details and if your schedule is like mine, maybe we can workout a roomie deal (anyone else reading this, I'm to rooming), that be great for both of us. Right now, if I don't find any thing else I'm paying $414 a week UUHG not ideal, but it's high everywhere here.
I'd really like to maybe go to NY one of my off weeks, maybe Philly another, Boston, who knows, it's all like a $50 ride away, I'll see how it works out though.
Oh, one other thing the entrance is on PARK not HOWE. It's just around the corner though.

I would say They Are Strict. I don't know about commenting on other people, so I'll say my screening group should have over filled the study, but there are still ings so you do the math. One guy even left during "informed consent". I'm ridiculously healthy and also got a local address before screening. I passed. All and all, if you have any doubts, I would Not spend a bunch of money to travel & screen with them, unless your healthy and clean. They're not gonna let you slide. In the way they screened it showed this is big business and is at the top. I would honestly say that if you're trying to slip anything by , you probably won't, they're pretty serious, they even measure Height/Weight in Metric to be more exact and like I said they don't over look anything - to the point of a pat down before you pee. The adviser even mentioned during screening that often they don't have full studies because people wash at the last moment, she was saying the alt get in often, but I heard the flip side, people wash just as often.
With that being said. If you're healthy and are serious about doing studies...screen. I got in and I'm glad. This is a 2 months with half the time in patient. During my time off, I'll explore the East Coast. I think I was the only traveler, everyone else seemed to be from NY, MD, ect, you know - hop in the car distance.
Now as for the staff, they were great, very friendly, helpful and not looking down at us. The building was Surgical Clean and felt comfortable. Also, I guess we wear scrubs and shirts provided by them, which is cool, saves me the trouble. Not sure if that's all studies, but it seems to be. The food, I haven't ate, but they give you a menu and it "looks" good -- mango salads, BBQ night, Stir Fry Night...I hear it looks better than it taste but they can't spice things up or it could skew the results so I don't expect scrumptious food, just feed me.
After the study is complete, I'll start a new thread about how it went.

OK, done. I've been here all summer for $6300 (easy study, but drawn out). is nice in a lot of ways.
Staff is almost all really courteous. Rooms are not packed in, it's 2, 3 or 4 beds, no bunks. Most rooms have locking closets. It's very clean. Towels and scrubs are always available. Lots of TVs and movies, even TVs in rooms. Also free community phones. A pretty good library with more than romance novels. The worst complaints are - No camera, not even covered & no wireless internet (you either use there computers or hard line it in the cafeteria. There's probably 20 computers (if they're all working). There's pool, video games, board games, plenty of news papers to go around. They try really hard.
Checks...they mail the screening check and the others are waiting for you when you leave as long as you don't get docked for anything and even then, they try to have it ready. They really don't FK with your money. If it's a big study with in & outs you'll get partial pay and then a final check.
They pay isn't super high, but from what I see, it's on par now days & everybody seems to have to many OPV this last few months. I will say for the times I was in, it's almost all free time, very few procedures.
Food...ahh could be better and they make you stay for 20 minutes regardless.
As for testing, I saw lots of guys having issues. They really try to work with you, they'll retest you again and again, but in the end, they are strict.
