Yeah, that makes sense. At first I just thought,WTF?Some one that smokes, snorts or shoots up gets paid a lot more than those that don't?! Than I clicked on the link and it shows that for that particular study,it does require a lot of in house stays.
and demand. there aren't a lot of former druggies who are healthy enough to do studies and willing and able. us healthy volunteers can make a living at it and we are always looking for the next gig. the drug studies are more sporadic.
I did a $5900 study at PRA, 8 dosings, snorting either or an abuse-resistant formulation. Sounds fun and easy for a ton of money right? They wanted 40 people and got THIRTEEN. It's hard to get people who are willing to put drugs up their nose, yet aren't addicted to them or otherwise unstable, unreliable, unhealthy, etc.
Junkies aren't paid more, junkies don't get in studies. You still have to test clean to get in, and opioid studies will give you a naloxone challenge after admission to make sure you aren't dependent on anything, because that will screw with the drugs' effects.

"I did a $5900 study at PRA, 8 dosings, snorting either or an abuse-resistant formulation." My former roommate did a study like that in ohio. Snorting soing designed to be unsnortable, not fun. I didnt get into that because I didnt have the right set of lies cued up.
Anyway I'm sitting here in the lobby at vince - wifi passpord is 5432112345. It was 1200 mile round trip drive here and they didnt bother to tell e the study is postponed so I'm not screening today. They are setting me up with soing for later. They called one, didn't reach me, and didnt bother to email or call back later. So that's a reminder everybody, always call to confirm your screenings before doing a long road trip.
