i'm suddenly carless, and i have a screening at pharma-medica on tuesday. i can get close by taking greyhound to st louis or the airport and then light rail, so i might take a shuttle from the airport or soing, but i was wondering if there's a bus from st charles downtown that goes to pharma-medica? edit: i'll probably rent a car. or cancel the screening.
later edit: i got a rent a car for the screening and spent a day taking buses to check in. dosed yesterday. there's two ways to do it, $18 shuttle from the airport, they prefer you call 4 hours ahead but they'll take you if you just show up. that's probably the better way. you get to the airport via light rail from downtown, e.g. greyhound or megabus. the other way is get off light rail at hanley rd station, then you have to find the "scat" shuttle stop off to the side and wait. it only runs a few times a day. then take that to the foundry in st charles and pick up the orange line, which also runs just a few times a day, in 1 hour 10 minute intervals after 9 am til maybe 3. drops you right at pharmamedica. $1 total for both buses. the orange line can also take you downtown if you are staying at a cheap hotel like the red roof for followup visits. i will do a later post on the fun we are having at pharmamedica. i'm only on day 3 so the full horror hasn't really set in, i'm committed to just doing my time, getting it over with, and going home.

Thanks for this post, and I'm glad things worked out for you. Earlier I was wondering the same thing about public transportation there, in case I flew in(round trip I checked was $131). So that shuttle for $18, would it take me right to a hotel in St Charles? While I'm at it, are the hotels in St Charles typically safer than those in St Louis?

best hotel in st louis is the hostel, $25 a night. it's about a mile, one local bus ride, from the greyhound station. the airport shuttle could take you to the red roof inn in st charles, about 50 a night. i think st charles hotels are generally safer than st louis - it's a more suburban area.
