Meaning if you screen then try to screen for another study they will penalize you? I posted in the thread how they kind of pulled one out of thin air on me. wondering how come of a practice this is.

Parexel will jack you if you cancel a screening appointment, even if it is a few minutes after you made the appointment. Most clinics are fine if you just cancel at least 24 hours before the screening.

I am looking to do my first study. It looks like there aren't any healthy studies near me though looking in the Study Scavenger app. The closest in the app is 300+ miles away in Ohio. I know there are other places that do studies closer to my area, but I can't find any info on them in the app. I have looked at their websites, but I am trying to find reviews from people who have actually been there before. What happens if I get into a study and find one that pays more or is closer to where I live? Does the 24 hour notice thing apply to soing like that? I don't want to get the door shut on me before I even begin.

i personally dont find the app helpful. you are under no obligation to accept a study even if you get in. it's unethical for them to penalize you for bailing but it does happen at some places, but only mildly. when you get into a study, it's usually better to take that one, than to hope you will pass screening somewhere else. but, until you actually dose, you should be thinking about a backup plan. so sometimes you can have already screened somewhere else, or at least made a screening appointment, as part of your plan b. then as soon as you dose, cancel any other appointments.

I have heard the same feedback about . They monitor this forum, and ban people for arbitrary reasons, including telling the truth about them. I was banned as a result of giving true feedback on the exit questionaire. I consider this unethical.
They are using coercive practices to interfere with the "informed" part of informed consent. So don't post here in ways that they don't like that could somehow be traced to you. Feel free to send me private messages on this topic, not that I check them often.

Wow, I think I am going to check what info. I have public since I never thought sponsors would be monitoring this site. I have also found that on the exit survey I just say the positives and maybe a complaint about the food , like about wishing they would offer more raw uncooked food like fruit and salads, but besides that I do not say too much especially since they know who you are. I was just at Covance and the exit survey was mandatory , they called u down from your room which I had never experienced before.
And it is crazy about the cancellation policies. They can cancel us without an I am sorry but penalize us if we do. So far I have not had a problem but have not gone to any of the facilities listed above but will make a mental note of their policies.

I am wondering HOW this can happen. I thought doesn't use VCT, so I assume this was information you disclosed to them? Regardless, that sucks and is definitely unethical.

Worldwide penalizes you. You are given two "freebies' per year. However there is a loophole. For instance, if you cancel a screening appointment for a study and they have that same study # again the next month or in the future and you screen for it then you will not be penalized.
