I can't tell if I'm just having a blindspot, but is there no Spaulding subforum? If not, why? I actually wanted to post about a 56 day study they had. Has Spaulding been banned?(lol) Seriously though, if it ever existed and can be recovered, I'd be grateful if I could read it.

Just saw this study on study scavenger. 56 days $14,840 at Spaulding. Screening has already started . I looked on the board and did not see any info on Spaulding, pros and cons. Do u know how to post and ask others to update info . Food, wifi, rooms, bathrooms, common areas. I will try and figure it but no guarantee.

I'm wondering the same questions, but the problem is that there is no subforum on here for Spaulding, at all. I mean there are subforums for some very obscure clinics, so it puzzles me that there isnt an area on here to discuss Spaulding. Is it BANNED(lol) from discussion or soing? Can one of the mods add it, please? I'm rather surprised nobody has brought this up before, unless it's that the owner is displeased with Spaulding and erased a formerly existing discussion area? I was hoping a moderator or seasoned veteran would have replied to my question by now. As always, if someone would rather reply in PM for whatever reason, feel free. Thanks

Males must be surgically sterile for that study, just FYI Thanks, yeah I did notice the surgically sterile requirement for males, but I was just hoping to have a discussion area to talk Spaulding in general like all of the other clinics have on here. I will be in WI soon, and if current plans dont work out there, Spaulding seems like it would make a great backup plan. Has anyone been there within the last year or 2 that could share any information or impressions about the place? I'd be grateful for any information I could get while I try to convince the mods to unban the Spaulding discussion forum. I'm kinda curious why nobody else has ever brought it up, or if they did and were eliminated from the pages of history for breaking some sort of unwritten rule. EDIT: As always, feel free to reply to this via private message if you prefer. I intend to unravel this great mystery! Thanks

i don't know why the spaulding board went away. i will say in the past there have been times when paul got nastygrams from company lawyers and we weren't allowed to talk about company x for awhile. i thought it might have been soing like that. so i didnt ask further.

I was just on the Spaulding website and they make themselves look pretty good. It seems like they have a lot of great things, private bathroom , chef, movie room etc... I saw a posting on FB that said they would help with travel expenses and if u come with a friend u can room together. Not sure why they really need people for the 56 day study. $ 15,000 !!!!!!! If the clinic is nice they should have an excess of people! i have a few people that I know who travel everywhere so I will ask around about this clinic. They pay $265 a day which is better than Covance so I am going to look into it for the near future. Of course going there from Florida I would need to pay air fare, hotel, rental car so I would have to factor that in.
I think I will call Monday since the FB post said they would help with travel.
I looked at some of their other studies and they seem to pay well.

I looked at some of their other studies and they seem to pay well. They are having difficulty filling the study because they need sterile men and there aren't a lot of those. I assume the female part of the study is already filled. Covance pays $275 a day or more for most studies. Spaulding varies their pay quite a bit. The ones that pay really well per day are much more difficult studies so you earn every penny. Spaulding takes more dangerous studies that other clinics decline. Not all of their studies are like that but many are and only you can decide if it's worth the extra money.

Thanks, those last couple of sentences are information we all need to make informed decisions. If we aren't allowed a forum for Spaulding, a thread is better than nothing!! Soing else I can pass on from interrogating someone who has been there: it's supposedly a new facility and nicer than covance in many ways. The thing about them being strict is supposedly participants' inability to follow simple rules. The downside I heard vs Covance is that Spaulding has showers in one big room like a high-school gym class(or prison lol).

Thanks Puntkicker. They did not specify male/female but u are right they always are in need of men. I will call Monday to get more info. I never thought about being more dangerous so I guess also more blood draws as well. I thought on the site it said private bathroom but I am ok with locker room shower . I am great at following rules, after all I am being paid so I am always on time for blood draws and don't cause problems. I think Covance usually pays 250 per night. But I will check with some of my girlfriends and see if they want to fly up in the future. In all reality I would rather do a long study and make a big chuck of money , then waiting 30 days would be easy. And the study at Spaulding is called Sunshine which I don't know what that is suppose to mean. ?

The downside I heard vs Covance is that Spaulding has showers in one big room like a high-school gym class(or prison lol). Spaulding is NOT a new facility. It is in an OLD hospital they bought at least 5 years ago. If you are lucky enough to get one of the rooms with just 2 people and a private bathroom then that would be better than Covance. If you get the other building that has bunk beds then it's FAR worse than Covance. There are no "prison style" showers that i'm aware of. I have done nearly 10 studies for each company so I know what i'm talking about. You seem to have gotten some bad info from someone else. You are right about them being strict compared to other clinics. They will fine you for being late or not following rules. Too many people want to get paid without doing their jobs properly. I have no problem with Spaulding cracking down on those people. It's not that hard. All you have to do is be at a certain place when your schedule tells you to be there and don't make noise during quiet hours or cause other problems.

I like Spaulding for these longer studies... Too bad I don't qualify for this study. **Update** I just found out that they are offering $500 for referring people to the study called "sunshine". how do these referrals work/do they work?

Has anyone ever asked Spaulding staff exactly how they pick for a study, the way I interrogated Covance into telling me it's based on your test results? I can see the pros and cons of various ways for various parties. I know that simple is assumed to be the most common, but I looking for soing beyond assumption as I have a friend who wants to do their first study there, and it's a 16 hour drive each way to screen, and then 2 more of those if selected. Obviously, I want to help my friend with the best advice I can give.....which right now im trying to sell a much shorter study at Celerion Lincoln, which is less than half the distance of a drive.
Also I wanted to correct an error of mine from earlier in the thread. The description this person was giving of the new facilities/lockerroom showers was of , not Spaulding. There was some miscommunication and it was not my intent to mislead any of you. I will be more diligent with conveying my interrogation in the future.

I've got a buddy heading to his first study(anywhere) for screening there soon. I'm not seeing many hotels for West Bend online. Can someone please recommend somewhere cheap...ASAP, please?
EDIT: Redacted on urgency, I think he'll be fine. I wouldn't mind any recommendations though.
