Are any of you worried about getting enough vitamin D with the long stretches of time indoors? I have concerns about it. One could load up on d3 before heading in,as it is fat soluble and won't wash out the same day like many vitamins. On the plus side, some places on some days allow you outside for about 15 minutes. Some have milk fortified with vitamin D as well, if you don't mind milk. I don't claim to have any idea what kind of overall balance this equates to, but hopefully it helps some. It would be nice if somehow we could get these concerns expressed and addressed. I have ideas in my head, but obviously don't feel anyone is going to be proactive otherwise. Great question, I wish more people expressed these concerns so that I'd know I wasn't alone.

I take Vit D. On a daily basis so that my level is normal or high normal so that when i do studies it will hopefully not get too low. Some places do let u outside so i try and sit in the sun on thoes days if possible but i dont think there is any other solution.
I take 3000mg per day. The pills are small and i figure it will help for when i am in patient.
Any othet ideas?

Some take upwards of 10k iu per day.Since D3 has a half life of 35 days. I imagine that if I took 70k iu once a week I would be fine verses daily dosing.

If you live in north america (most of us rats do) then your body hardly gets ANY vitamin D naturally from the sun this time of year. Even if you were to sun yourself naked at noon you would still fall short of what you can get with a multi vit..or better yet monthly injection from a doctor.

So all you can do is what you feel is best for you. I actually just started taking vitamin d about a year ago so I figure if I am in a study and can not take it then I just take it when I get out. I don't think my health is going to be than much worse without it. So when I can take it I take it and when I can't I don't.
