Has anyone had to do a 2nd screen for a genome type like one study told me I'd need to? If so, what can you tell me about it? The recruiter couldn't tell me any more than that they needed to see if I'd be the correct genome type.
I seem to remember someone on here going on an epic rant about not selling your genome type. Would this be similar, a least possibly? Or do they just check your genome and then destroy/discard whatever they got(I'm not sure if I explained that how I wanted to, but I'm not sure how to say it right now...I'm guessing someone understands and can put it into better wording?).
Thanks, I really need to understand what is going on with this and make a decision soon.

Are u screening for an Alzheimers study? I was trying to read up on it for screening so I sound like i know what the study is all about:) I think it mainly is to see if u are genetically predisposed to getting Alzheimers and if u are they cant use u. The test must be expensive since u have to pass basic screening first.

I am wrong.
They are trying to see if you are genetically unable to process the drug. Some gene types just pass the meds through your system without absorbing them so if that is u they cant study how the drug is processed. Makes sense, they do not to pay u if they dont get usable data. After all we are earning every dime We make thru taking the drug and the many blood draws.
If someone had more info please reply/share.
This info is for a certain study so maybe it wont apply for other studies

As FG already noted, for this 2nd screen for GENOME type, this information may not apply to many folks, or even to other genome type screens. However, it may... and that's why we are taking the time to SHARE it with others, including the lurkers(who logically could be considered parasitic, as a simple factual matter, not one of judgment).
FG, I appreciate your reply, and it's semi-rare to see someone say they are wrong, so I appreciate someone being able to say that even more.
To add a bit more, in a study for "caucasians only", which in parentheses also said hispanics(ok?!?), I sought out some more info on a later call directly to the clinic(FG, you already know this, so it is for the other members).
I had the opportunity to speak with the head of screening, and she had to look up the information before being able to answer anything. Just noting that it wasnt soing she already knew anything about at all, and apparently had not spoken with anyone else whom had asked, regardless of the fact that the study had been FULL for a number of days(some folks who think alot, maybe even "overthink", may find this information useful...that's why i take the time to SHARE it).
Originally, as she started to look things up but before she found the information, she said that they were looking for a "rare genome". After she found the information, she said that all they really knew from the results so far was that about 50% would not qualify.
That means roughly HALF of the people who qualified for the initial screen would get the boot with no compensation. Maybe not a big deal for locals, but anyone risking major travel expenses would certainly need a set of cajones on them to accept the odds of having to both beat out all the other contestants(thats how this CRU operates), and then if you do pass, the odds are still a coinflip that you're out.
I write this in hopes it will help others who face genome tests, especially those who TRAVEL to do so. I also wanted to add that the results of the first test take 2 days, so you're likely looking at a minimum of 3 extra days, and whatever expense that may cause non-local people. If you found this potentially useful, feel free to click the thumbs up(if anyone on here is familiar with The Fonz).

I am waiting on my results to come back so i will let u know how long it takes for genotype results. And as a side thought it took 5 days for my routine labs and drug screen to come back so when they tell u it takes weeks to get results that is not true. Rare genotype sounds like it would be a very small ent or the population so i am already packing my suitcase.
