Sometimes you just got to do what you got to do, don't miss out on life for a few bucks. there are other studies, though i'd check my consent papers before i make a move like that, some places you still get a okay amount per day if not the regular sum, other places ( i'm looking at you) take you down to $70 a day! not sure about PPD. If it was my cuz id say sorry i'm busy...a sibling or friends wedding is another story.
BUT, you have the right to leave a study ANY time. This goes for any study. they may get peeved and may reflect on your record but if you state your case and do all the check out procedures they need you to do then it will lessen any ill regards.

if youa re alreaady checked in, discuss this with the study coordinator. they might be able to sneak you in and out without missing any procedures. the next to last day is often not busy, unless that's the study day. or they might tell you to pound sand.

I agree with these 2 members. Go ahead and ask, but if you'd like an idea of the answer ahead of time, look at the papers you signed. Unless they "feel your pain"(to quote Bill Clinton) like Vark said, not only will you lose the small pro-rated portion for the day, but you will lose the "completion bonus". I'm shocked nobody here mentioned this. On longer studies, that completion bonus you lose could be well over $1000. Like Pong said, you have the right to leave at any time for any purpose, and they aren't supposed to coerce you. Depending on their policies, I wouldn't be surprised if they suspend you or soing. A recruiter just said that might happen to me for cancelling before I even went, but I was told by someone in admissions that was not the case there, and would only have been if I no showed. I think you had the best idea yourself, just ask. If you want to avoid shock, please read your signed agreement first. Best wishes. Hopefully they wont care about any proof and ask for it like on the Seinfeld episode where George wanted the bereavement fare for his flight to a funeral. Best wishes, let us know how it goes.
