i've always avoided grapefruit, because they say to. but i met a guy who gets out of a study and chugs a bottle of grapefruit juice, to detox and get ready for the next study. not that any of us here would do that.

Grapefruit simply extends the lifespan of some drugs in your body, it can have the effect of soing like doubling the effective dose of what medication you have taken; it does NOT do this with everything, only a small minority of drugs, but clinics forbid grapefruit consumption for every study just to be on the safe side. And I can't imagine drinking a lot of grapefruit juice AFTER a study could reasonably be a problem.
