recently i phone-screened for a study and one of the exclusions was whether i had taken any flights over 2 hours in the last 30 days. the study is a phase 1 for an experimental blood thinning med.
does anyone know why (or want to take a guess) they would have this restriction?
i think one's level of gen decreases slightly on a long flight but i also think that is only while on the flight..... however, i don't really know.
thanks to anyone who has any ideas about this.

Flying increases your risk for blood clots. In that case that makes you a prospective non healthy control for this study as the medication is a blood thinner used precisely to treat what? A clot!

that is logical .... except the clinic does not want any of the volunteers to have flown in last 30 days!
i just wonder ... how will they know?

Having said that, if your mailing address is on the East Coast and you're screening on the West Coast, that's probably a give away.
