Does anyone know if Icon pays you out if you experience side effects and get sent home by the doctor?

i don't know about Icon. i do know that this is a murky area in clinical trials. i have always heard that if the DOCTOR sends you home, you should get full pay. however, it seems that some clinics follow this and others, no way.
i was in a horrible study 5 years ago. i kept reporting side effects and was obviously suffering. that doctor would NOT take me out of the study. i finally quit. i received half of the pay but i had to phone the IRB.
sometimes an IRB will help a participant in cases of non-payment, and sometimes not. it is a roll of the dice, but it shouldn't be!

if it's after you dosed, you should receive full payment. If it's pre dose, you'll just get paid as a backup

Payment is strictly dependent on the informed consent and how it is written. If it states your payment will be pro-rated, don't expect payment in full. While it sucks to get sick, remember the rest of the group is still attending all visits and getting poked.
