No I haven't read that Professional Guinea Pig Subjects book, but I just bought it for cheap on Amazon. Thanks for pointing it out. Have you all read this? www.maskmagazine.com/the-hustle-issue/work/saving-livesI really enjoyed it, personally. It seems to directly address this idea that being paid is secondary to the companies' propaganda about "saving lives" or whatever. I'd be curious to see what other rats think, in terms of organizing to get better pay, treatment, etc. Any thoughts?

You sound like a principal investigator trolling for comments to get people banned from your precious ufcking biologic endless outpatient drug studies. It's a nice Summer's Eve here, dude. Thanks for asking what I REALLY do for a living. You pricks are so out of touch. Are you an inside infiltrator? How are your labs?

Admitting everything in our medical history and getting chipped. So they know everything about us? VCT and Clinical RSVP are bad enough. How much transparency do you really want? They see everything about us. And they see exactly what about us?

Covance doesn't give a fukc. They take forever to pay you, but they don't realize that getting paid is the real only capitalistic reason that any of us waste our time with them anyway. What, FDA regulations? We healthies do drug studies to get paid! Then we have to wait "up to 21 days" to receive our checks? Yeah, we love your free food and constant blood draws.

I'd be curious to see what other rats think. Rats? Your socioeconomic slur gives you away, agitator. Why don't you just come out and call us the worms that you really think we are.

This in regards to Covance paying.
I found them to pay either by direct deposit or check. I have never had a problem with payment. I always get my money quick. So they do care, they know we need the $ or would not be doing this. I love Covance: good food, pays quick and the employees are friendly/caring ( Daytona) Have not been to the other clinics
Did a study near Christmas and they made sure we got bulk of $ on the way out, had one phone call visit or would have gotten all of it. I guess probably sponsors idea? But it was much appreciated

I am new to Phase 1 clinical trials so I am trying to learn as much as I can .
Location: Florida
I mainly do: Healthy Studies
# of studies I have done: 3
A little about me: I am just getting started in clinical trials . Became unemployed and was doing small outpatient studies until someone told me about Covance and it has ed up a new world of making money.
So I am trying to do more inpatient studies and am hoping to do even more next year.

Only 5% of the participants do it for the money. ? Interesting theory.
