Hello Everyone,
I'm new here. I would like to inquire about the screening process, I noticed a lot of studies offer a small payment for being screened. Is it possible to earn some quick, albeit relatively small income, by simply participating in multiple screenings? i.e. if I need a couple hundred bucks in a few days? is there a cap on how many screenings a potential volunteer can do? within a certain span of time? or am i free to screen for as many studies as I qualify/am allowed to?
Thanks in advance!

Not a good idea. Typically you can only screen for one study at a time for any given clinic. If you screen at several clinics and get accepted at multiple clinics, that could be a problem. If you screen and are accepted for check-in then "no-show", that's a good way to get banned or at least suspended from a clinic.

generally screening pay, where there is any, just covers part of the cost of your travel. but it's not out of the question. bring a friend or two, each get a screening payment, refer each other. you can't be forced to take the study if you get in. but the money is in doing studies, not in screening. if you get in and decide not to do the study, be sure to let them know, don't just not show up. when i used to have a couple friends to travel to studies with, we'd have whoever gets in pay the gas, etc. for the screening trip; if none of us got in we'd split it equally. if you have a friend who isn't sure about doing studies, having them come along just to check a screening check might be enough to get them to check it out,and find out if it's soing they want to do or not.
one place this approach can be a problem is kansas city. vince pays $100 for screening, but they will know if you are screening anywhere else, and will get pissed about it, similarly pra and quintiles. pra quintiles vince and celerion trade notes. it's highly unethical for a place to tell you you can't screen somewhere else, because consent is supposed to be voluntary, not coerced because they won't let you screen somewhere else. but that's what they do.
places that pay for screening include vince ($100) jasper (varies) parexcel (20) medpace $25 or is it 50.
places that don't pay for screening include covance, pharmamedica, morgantown.
