I'm not exactly new to this, I've been doing studies at novum Houston (my home town) since Sept 2014. So far I've done seven studies with them and the most I've ever made with them was $2,500 and that was early this year. Other participants have told me I would come out way better if I went to Worldwide in San Antonio or PPD in Austin. I've decided to try PPD but I heard the screening process takes more than one day to complete. This could be I problem because I live in Houston and I don't know how long I would have to stay in Austin until the screening is done. And on top of that I've never left Houston so I'm a little nervous about going to Austin. My question is how many days does the screening process take??? What to expect during screening??? And are there any hostels near PPD??? Oh and before I forget, I shouldn't tell them I've been going to novum right??? Like I wouldn't get in if I told them???

Lol you're making it like Austin is more than 2 hours from Houston. But usually PPD does your blood work on one day, and your physicals on another day. Sometimes you might even need to come back in for a 3rd visit for a repeat or if your study needs a TB test. But you could always make the drive down from Houston to Austin easy. But there are also hostels around Austin, if you look them up that charge about $15 or so a night. Megabus is also pretty cheap.

Really sucks to travel far to austin, the physical is several days to a week after the screening.

I don't have a car, so megabus will do. But I have a problem with the physical not being on the same day as the screening. Like I would hate to leave for Houston right after the screening to get a phone call from PPD saying to come back up there after I just left for Houston. I'm currently doing another study with novum and I'll probably check out PPD when I'm done with this study. I need my wisdom teeth taken out and people have suggested I go to PPD because apparently they remove your wisdom teeth and compensate you for it.

I scheduled a screening for PPD and I live in...Denver. Yeah, after scouring this board for a long time, and many sites daily, it was the best I could currently find for my situation. I really do feel your pain about the 2 day screening process. I wish enough people would speak up about that so that maybe they'd change, as I read on here that one other place did. Also, from what I've read, it's not like 2 screening step places where you know the dates ahead of time. EDIT: I think I found soing where I like the odds better, based on what folks here say about PPD(even though I'm screening on day 3 of 4 in the other study, and the 2nd to last slot that was ). Edit 2: PPD called me a couple days ago(about 4 days before I was to screen) and left a message that my screening was cancelled, and said to call if I'd like to try for another. Good thing I hadn't booked a hotel(or worse yet, a flight, not that I was flying but some folks do). Is there any chance at all I could get one of those VIP cards I've heard about? Getting one of those would make the 2 part screening process worth it. Also, I dont recall if I've read it before, but what's the longest anyone has had to wait for the physical after the screening? Depending on distance, might it be worthwhile to plan on staying until the physical?
