Hi everybody,
My name is Alex Stern, and I'm a producer for WHYY, Philadelphia's NPR member station. I work for a health and science radio show called The Pulse.
I'm here because I'm interested in reporting a story about people who participate in clinical trials and research studies specifically because they are interested in getting paid for it. I'm looking for healthy volunteers who were motivated by compensation, and perhaps other things as well. Ideally, you'll have participate in several studies.
Does this sound like you? Please email me at astern@whyy.org. We'll have an off-the-record chat and can move forward from there.
Bonus points if you're near Philadelphia and are to being interviewed in person.
Thanks, Alex

I have heard of the NPR station WHYY in Phili I love NPR and am a member of 89.7 WUSF. So I encourage people to reply. I am in a private message. They are honest, real, Truthful news and I am willing to share my views about volunteering for clinical trials.

Hi all,
Just wanted to add some more info after chatting with a few folks:
We're just interested in sharing the experience of people who do this. Healthy volunteers are the backbone of phase I clinical trials; they're really important to us having new treatments. We think that the public might be aware of that fact, but that they don't necessarily consider it when taking a medication. We're also talking to an ethicist at the NIH who talks about the importance of healthy volunteers.
Unfortunately, it's unethical for us to pay our sources, so I can't offer any money. But please do reach out if you'd like your story told!
Best, Alex
