Hi. If anyone else who has that crap going on happens to see this, I'm curious about how often you're approved for these trials. I've screened for a few, and the bilirubin thing always comes up.

Hey I don't have this but my friend Jon does and has been wanting to screen for some studies and hasn't for that reason...At this point he hasn't done a study yet but has screened for 2. Have you done studies where that wasn't an issue? In my experience studies vary pretty widely in what they will accept but I also don't have this particular ailment so I don't want to encourage him to keep screening if it's a blind alley.

That doesn't address the issue of screening with Gilberts Syndrome though

That doesn't address the issue of screening with Gilberts Syndrome though OK. It is just that the original question did not state what Gilbert's syndrome is.

Get a doctor's note saying you have the condition and it is the cause of your elevated bilirubin. Be honest about it upfront and show the note to the nurse that does your history as well as the doctor who does your physical. The truth is it will hurt your chances of getting into studies if they have enough people with no health issues but if it's on file with the clinic then you will eventually be able to get into some studies. I know someone who has done several studies at Spaulding even though they know about his condition.
