Does Clinilabs in New York use VCT? They do now. It was just announced: Clinilabs and VCT unite. I know most of you don't like VCT, but read the last paragraph below: I don't know how any of you sleep at night who go immediately from one study into the next before even getting the drug out of your system.

i wonder who all these rats who are supposed to do that are. most rats i know have troubles finding the next study.... too far away; screening and physical exam too far apart; too many persons being screened; out of staters not wanted; horrible studies with low pay for lots of risk ... etc. etc.
i just wish that there were more oversight and attention given to rats who do have side effects ... where is the protection for us, especially if we get side effects after the study is over, and wonder if they could be from a study drug? i have contacted IRB's with questions and gotten absurd replies, usually, "Don't do the study if you think it is too risky," with no discussion of possible side effects etc and no more info given, even when lots is available on the internet.
anyway thanks for posting about Clinilabs and VCT!

ok, this is weird, i screened at Clinilabs (NYC) last week and was NOT given any VCT forms to sign. i know what they look like as i have had to sign them at SNBL and at Celerion.
are you sure that you signed VCT consent forms and not just regular consent forms?

I verbally asked when I called in about 3 months ago, she said yes. However, I never screened. So I can't say 100%, I didn't personally sign the form, that's why on the "at-a-glance" post I started I didn't include it.
It's possible the recruiter didn't know what I was really asking, or never and was just trying to discourage me.
It's possible too, that they have since OPTED OUT

well, i see that Carmel posted on this thread a link to a news story (in April 2013)re Clinilabs partnering up with VCT. all i can say is that i was NOT given VCT forms to sign (October 2013), and i do know what they look like. It may be that neither Clinilabs nor encountered any dual enrollment by lab rats and thus decided the expense was not worth it. i know that i have asked nurses at several small clinics if they have it and they all said that the doctors at their clinics thought it was too expensive for them, and they did not believe it to be the huge problem that VCT makes it out to be. my personal opinion is that VCT is stupid and instead of preventing lab rats from the heinous act of dual enrollment, merely s the door for errors in our records and also invades our privacy even more. i notice the press release referred to in the link said soing about volunteers not reporting medical conditions. so does that mean that VCT not only can access our clinic enrollment data, but also our personal medical info? that has never been my understanding of VCT when i signed the forms at Celerion and SNBL ...maybe it was just more hype from them.
