I went to my first screening and got a call from the recruiter a few days later. He told me I had a high number of white blood cells in my urine which means some kind of infection. He told me that he would send me some paperwork and that I needed to go to the doctor and that I didn't qualify for the study. I went to ER and my urine and tests came back ok and just fine. Would I still qualify for another study/ a different one? Would I be able to go in and screen again for a whole other study? I'm nervous because I am very interested in participating in studies and don't want to be blocked out all together.

every study i have ever screened for, my lab report comes back "trace amounts of blood" in the urine. this has gone on for years now. it has only kept me out of one study so far. usually the doctor writes "NCS" or "Not clinically significant". i don't know whether they are white blood cells or red blood cells.
what clinics are you trying to get into? i know parexel and sometimes can get weird about screenings where the same problem keeps coming up. i have a friend who was banned from parexel for some silly reason even though she is extremely healthy and gets into lots of other clinics.
if the ER test was fine, i would go ahead and keep screening but maybe at a different clinic next time, as long as you have some choices where you are.
it could also be that the lab just made a mistake with your urine test
i also drink organic cranberry juice every day as i know it helps my "problem." the cheap cranberry juice ("Ocean Spray." etc. just does not have enough cranberry in it ... mostly grape and apple juic and corn syrup, or worse yet, sucralose.
best wishes to you.

Oh wow, thanks Travelingrat for such a fast response to this. It has been bugging me for the last week now. I am new to becoming a labrat... It is Ppd here in Austin, Tx. I will try going in for another screening soon. What are some good clinics here in Austin that you might have heard about that I could try going in to screen at? I will start drinking organic cranberry juice. Thank you for your info and feedback.

i have not ever been to a clinic in texas ... i hope to someday! i realized after i posted that i should of course have added that my problem may have nothing to do with your problem. i just very easily get mild bladder infections which lead to trace amounts of blood in those urine screenings. a urologist told me to drink cranberry juice every day. i have also investigated online and there are many opinions about the efficacy of cranberry juice. in fact there have been clinical trials with it, hee hee hee!
all i know is it works for me ... i put about 3 ounces in a glass, then add 5 ounces of the commercial cranberry juice to improve the flavor as the organic juice is very tart and sour. if i think my problem is coming on, i drink a lot ... if no problems, still at least one glass per day, preferably two.
in your case, it may jsut have been an inaccurate lab report. this has happened to 2 different labrat friends of mine (and in fact, one was trying to get into PPD but that was in 2009). organic cranberry juice is hella expensive and you may not even need it so you may need to experiment a bit.
it took me a while to get into the first few studies i did. i'm sure most of us would advise you to keep looking for studies you think you can get into and stay positive. sometimes it seems as if there are no good studies anywhere and then, bam, there are 3 good ones at once. i have missed some good ones when i got discouraged and did not check sites every day ... so now i check the clinics close to me, every single day; good studies fill up lightning fast!
i'm sure sooner or later you will get into some great studies, good luck.
