It would be a mistake to tell them you ARE a smoker just to get into a smoking study, because you will then be listed in their files as a smoker which, most studies being only to non-smokers, would probably exclude from a lot of good studies. Better off sweating it out and giving up the habit for good.

antecubital - Your reading comprehension skills need some serious work. You somehow read the exact opposite of what the OP stated.

Better off sweating it out and giving up the habit for good. I understand that the OP is a smoker who wants to get into a non-smoking study, and if that's the case, he/she is better off quitting in to pass the inevitable lab tests for nie/ine. Looking back, I realize that I was bringing up an important point that might be relevant to the OP in the future, which is that if yhe/she IS a smoker and admits at screening/phone-screening it in to get into a smoking study, he/she will be listed in the clinic's files as a smoker, and probably be banned from future non-smoking studies. That's relevant because most studies are far and wide for non-smokers. So as a "non-smoker", the OP would have much better chances of getting a study than as a smoker.

yeah right banned...parexel considers you a non-smoker if you say you haven't smoked for 60-90 days....and its detectable in tests way less time than that depending how much you smoke. parexel ain't banning anyone, that place is a revolving door of studies. last time i was there they ran out of what they needed to test for nie use, and ended up letting a guy stay even though they couldn't check his blood.

You've got me on the facts, dextermorgan. I should have said "excluded" from non-smoking studies, not banned from all studies. My mistake.
