Howdy folks, new member here. So I used to be real heavy into doing studies at AAI Pharma here in NC, doing 6-7 studies a year. I liked the atmosphere and ease of screening- I never didn't get into a study I screened for, and it was fairly straightforward. AAI has now closed, and like many of us, I need money. I'm looking to get back into doing study's, but was just wondering if any of the oldtimers could suggest some places that are somewhat similar to AAI? I live in NC, so I can't really afford to fly to PPD and then not get selected for a study. any advice for me?

High Point Clinical Trials (formerly Mendenhall) in High Point, NC.
NOCCR in Knoxville, TN.
SNBL and Parexel in Baltimore. (Low-cost bus fares; check Greyhound Express and Megabus).
in New Haven. (Low-cost bus fares to NYC; commuter train to NH).
Celereion in Neptune, NJ. (Low-cost bus fares/local commuter train to Neptune/Asbury Park.)
Pretty much any clinic in the Northeast Corridor would be a LOT cheaper to travel to than any place in the south/deep south/midwest, with the possible exception of chicago area clinics.

High point is a lot nicer than AAI was. give it a try. i didn't make it past screening, but my impression was very positive. knoxville just gives me the runaround. they don't have much if you are over 45. there's money at paraxel, if not for me. there are some places in florida, i haven't been and their web sites don't tell you much so call.

Yeah it would be expensive to fly to Texas to go to PPD, but the good thing is Texas has several good backup options if you fail PPD screening; Worldwide and Icon in San Antonio (70 miles from Austin), and Covance in Dallas. I started doing studies in Texas, Worldwide and Icon are both pretty reliable.
