Parexel forgot one thing when it featured serial multi trial offenders Michael and Gary that subjects safety comes 1st.
Quite possibly when some of the subjects in testimonial featured in video performed for the camera they might have been admitted to more than one trial as they did in the past.
The senior staffer and Doctor featured in the promo really placed their reputation on the line. The question for these two particularly the clinician and lead P.I why have they not fully implemented available verification systems that could have easily alerted them to repeat offenses by some of subjects in the promo.
Not only not doing so places the doctors and subjects at risk but it affects the integrity of data and potentially place patients at risk who may end up taking the medication. Whatever happened Do no Harm. Being complicit in the injurious practice of non verification while placing profits over people helps scrupulous drug makers who dont care enough sat don the darn check.
It may even result in a drug with life saving potential not making the market because a PI decides to look the other way while participants enroll in more than one study concurrently, knowing the verification system would have alerted her to potentially life threatening participation of subjects!
Someone should reach out to the doctor in the video and ask her why wouldn't she support a verification system that promotes the safety of her subjects and the integrity of the data. In light of fact that Parexel had a fatal clinical trial that cost lives in past you would think verifications for all their trials would be the only choice.
May be posting of comments on Parexel twitter feed will get there attention. It's the responsibility of Parexel to ensure safety and not leave it up to pharmaceutical companies to chose whether they care about the safety subjects by skipping subject verification!
