This may very well be the worse clinic in the country. Only Spaulding has a worse phone system as far as calling to get into screenings etc..., they're "internet" is so limited, it should be false advertising to say that they offer it. Can't recall the guys name who is in charge there, but calling him an idiot would be an insult to idiots. He must have pictures on somebody to have that job.
Staff here is a mixed bag as with most places, the easier you are to get along with, the nicer they are of course. Food is typical clinic food. Sleeping quarters suck, as it's the "ward" style with many people in one big room (bring your ear plugs).
I'd highly recommend going here only if you absolutely had to. It's definitely a bottom feeder clinic.

I've been here before and had no problems.
Everything you described baffles me. Maybe you're picky.

I agree this is a bad clinic. They pay so low and there studies take forever. I did one of my first studies there. The only good thing is that I met a guy who told me about Covance and their good studies. I will post about this in a new thread but they recently screwed me over. They had five of us come in for a screening only to tell us we would not make it in and would be alternates in case somebody canceled. Phone screening should have told us this. I told them to shove their alternate status this and to get me out of the study so I could screen for another study. Some lady called me later in the week telling me I did not even make it as an alternate but I would be an alternate alternate. I could wait in their lobby on check in day and then if one of the seven alternates did not show up then I would come in as an alternate. I told them I wanted out of that study ASAP. A new study came up for a September check in and paying 4k. I could not screen for that study because the dumb witch still had me in the system for the other study so I lost out on another study. Then on the day the group for the original study was supposed to check in, I get a call asking why I did not show up for check in. I said that I wasn't interested and the person yelled at me. Talk about a crazy place.

Medpace is not so great. But they do pay. Hopefully this can help your expectations.
1. Yes, the internet is total crap. The staff will usually acknowledge the problem but never offer a solution.
2. Yes, the staff is a mixed bag. However, you always have to lead in politeness and you can only hope for politeness in return. -One of the charge nurses is a monster. I won't say her name, but you will recognize her right away. It is not difficult to get on her dislike list, which she never forgets. Other people can recognize her polarized behavior of being professional to some and unprofessionally rude to others. She will hold her dislike list to harsher standards. -Some of the staff are gossipers. That is annoying and unprofessional. Usually they will gossip when we are supposed to rest. I don't care to listen to their gossip, but whatever. -They don't always train new nurses well. If they are a morning shift, they all make an obnoxious commotion, which makes the new nurse nervous when drawing blood. If they are evening shift, the study subjects have to tell them what to do. -Other staff members are always happy, smiling, and have a bubbly personality. They definitely help you to have a better perspective while there. -Some of the staff members are really good at draws.
3. Yes, sleeping quarters are less than perfect. They are ward style. - I think there are 10 beds per room, two rooms per study. They often assign the rooms to be coed, even though there is enough room to be separated. In my opinion, the logistics of changing beds in to be separated by gender are worth it for the comfort of the study subject. As an attractive woman, I get hit on when I'm there. I am quite uneasy to sleep in the same room - and sometimes even adjacent to - men that have been asking for my number, or to take me out to dinner. It also mean that I can never change in the room because anyone can move the curtains that separate us. - Also, they dose inside the sleeping quarters. They keep all of the curtain back (not drawn) so everyone can see everyone in the room. There is a line of your fellow study subjects seated near the dosing bed. When it's your turn, you lie on the bed and - depending on where the dose is administered - your body is on display. Often, the study sponsors (sometimes both the name brand and other pharmaceutical company trying to make a generic) will be there to observe. At my last study, there are were least fifteen people watching the study subjects on the dosing bed. The actual procedure is never soing to fear. However, having everyone stare at you in a massive room is uncomfortable. And when the sponsors are there, everyone is one edge.
4. Yes, Dismus takes his job very seriously. In my opinion, he does take care of the subjects to the extent of his job. In return for being paid, he expects subjects and staff do to exactly as he says and he can be unrelenting. For the protocols he is militaristic, especially when the sponsors are there. I like the guy, but he did embarrass me one time, and that made me sad.
5. Yes, the food sucks. I always lose muscle mass when I am there. I can usually eat at least a few bites of the meals but it is rare that I can finish. It is like school cafeteria food, it's not poison, but not comforting. Some standard meals: Breakfast (approx 8:30am) - rice crispy cereal, egg frittata, bagel with peanut butter. Lunch (approx 12:30pm) - Chicken wrap, r.beef/turkey sandwich, Dinner (approx 6:30pm) - Lasagna, short rib, tacos. Snack (approx 10pm) - apple sauce and popcorn, apple sauce and pretzels, graham crackers and peanut butter.
Additionally: The showers are okay. It's definitely not the Ritz, but it is better than I expected. I always wear flip flops because I don't like germs.

Medpace paid us with this bogus PNC card that we have to pay to use. So we have to pay $5 to pull our money out. Of course there is a daily limit on how much we can pull out. All kinds of hoops to jump through just to get our own money. Such a scam Ill never go back. Also I don't have any PNC atms or so called PNC " banks" in my state. So far it's cost me $20 and counting. What a bunch of crooks. Medpace anb PNC. They know exactly what they are doing to steal our money. Both are guilty. My bank said oh no PNC is a terrible company and they can't honor the card.. alsoMedpace will not give me a name to complain to except Kevin the receptionist who has no authority to do anything.

I've had one of these cards for a couple of years & never paid a penny in fees. It's a Visa debit card. You can do anything with it. You can withdraw the entire balance into your PayPal account, then transfer it to your usual checking account. You're paid faster & more reliably via this od than you are at most clinics. I've seen people have issues with payment at Spaulding, ... Spaulding did their direct deposits via wire transfers at least once, which most people's banks charged them to accept. My suspicion is that you're unable to a checking account, or a PayPal account, or anything like that, because you've handled money terribly in the past. Boo hoo. Not Medpace's fault, though.

I am about to do a study at Medpace, and I don't have a bank account either due to previous problems with debit cards. I noticed the card offers a teller cash advance for $5. Basically all you have to do is walk into a bank that is associated with Visa, and ask for the entire amount off of the card. I did this with my paycard at Evansville, and there was no fee. Even still $5 isn't bad.
