false positives are pretty common. i thought the way the vaccine worked was to give you antibodies, that is to expose you to a killed or safe strain so your body will produce the antibodies yourself. not certain, i'm no doctor. if they are just saying you didnt get into that study, and not saying you are banned or anything like that, i wouldn't sweat it. obligatory: if you have a doctor, discuss it with your doctor. if i understood you, they are saying that at worst you had it once but cleared it so you arent sick or contagious. when you get a call from the study doctor after a screening, it's never good news. but they are obligated to tell people about risks. you can probably get a free hep test at your local clinic if you are worried, but it sounds to me like a false positive.
