Thanks for passing on the info. I am in Florida and have talked to a few people who gave gotten caught trying to do studies back to back. Compass Research in Orlando has u sign two consents one for VCT. I am not sure how it works exactly. I know people who go from Covance Daytona to compass without a problem so not sure how the CVT works. Do both facilities need to be members. So far I have been waiting the 30 days since if u get caught they won't let you come back Does anyone know how it works and do they have to tell u that you are signing a CVT consent/release.

You should plan to wait the 30 days between studies, for your health and so that one study drug doesn't mess up the next study's data. in between studies you can be screening. every place that uses vct will have a consent form for it, and vct only works when both places use it. currently i'd say at least half the places use it. where you see it the most is when a town has more than one study location. like right now i'm at algo in fargo and there's a novum right next door. not that i would ever go to novum, but enough people would.
so ideally try to find some kind of a temp job with a flexible schedule so you can work during your 30 days off so you don't need to stress if you go awhile between studies. but i haven't found a job like that.

That's a good answer. Vark, I have another question for you(or anyone!). You mentioned multiple screenings, but could I do a 2nd one for a company that has more than one location? For example, if I had a screening coming up for Covance in Madision, but finally saw a non-sterile study for Covance in Daytona, could I schedule a screening there as well, in case I'm not selected to the Madison one? I get that it isn't cool to cancel, but a lot of these studies literally disappear off the site quickly(although I suppose it is less annoying than sites like Parexel that leave closed ones up for lengthy periods of time, and you cant tell until you call in), so it'd make sense to have backup plans, even if one had to cancel.
That brings me to another question: If you cancel screenings, are these marks against you, at least at some places?
I dont mean to hijack the thread, even though that doesn't seem to be a big issue on here these days(lol).

For Covance, you need to cancel the first screening before you can schedule a new screening for a different study regardless of location. I don't think it will count against you to cancel screenings but it will count against you at many clinics if you cancel between screening and check in. Once you screen and sign the consent you should be committed to completing the study including all OPVs. Some clinics, like , keep a detailed record of people who cancel after screening or don't come back for a second period or OPV. They also keep track of people who are habitually late or have behavior problems(too loud, not following rules). If you get on their "bad list" it will be very difficult to get into a big study. I'm sure other clinics are like that too.

Thanks, I appreciate the information. I guess it makes sense, but I had to ask just to be sure of what my options are. I'm screening for a study I'd be happy to get into, but am slightly frustrated about having to wait weeks to screen, and then another 2 and a half weeks until the study. I'm kind of frustrated sitting on my hands now. Does anyone else want to chime in any opinions on whether canceling screenings may be held against you? From the sounds of it, people on here/in this industry do it a lot? Thanks again, I'm trying to figure out if I should start scheduling screenings after my upcoming one(I screen on the 3rd out of 4 days, if that matters). I may repeat myself a couple of times before then, being I think about it quite a bit! It kinda feels like a big boxing match...even though it isnt quite make or break, I am going to move significantly up, or down the rankings depending on if I get in or not. Even though it's a non-title fight, I think I may do a title-belt gesture like NFL QB Aaron Rodgers likes to do.

What I am curious is since PPD doesn't use this VCT then I should be able to screen at both places without any problems?
I like to screen at two places around the same time and hope to make one lol

I like to screen at two places around the same time and hope to make one lol In general, this is a common practice that I've heard talked about both on here and in studies. For these 2 in particular, logically I'd say you're fine, but hopefully some of the folks who frequent these 2 places will be willing to verify that for you.
