I will say things have improved on this and loading the card is done in a timely manner. I would still prefer direct deposit but it is what it is.

Most places can be strict on dose days as far as eating all the food, I do know Frontrea (old Covance) Madison they arn't strict on finishing all your food, same for mostly...but it's all study specific really and most meals at least have some meat...especially heavy on it for lunches for some reason...so you will reduce your caloric intake for ssure. Spaulding is usually pretty strict on eating everthing more than other places I must say.
It would be nice and not too much trouble if they could offer a plant based diet option, let them know at end of study feedback forms...who knows they may change their tune...especially at some of the more big city clinics with larger foreign born populations that may not eat meat. Good luck.

VCT is nationwide. If it wasn't it wouldn't accomplish what it does.

Anyone having any luck with the Clin Card Ap? It always goes blank when I try to log in. I suppose it's a step up from the BOA cards as you can (in theory) link it to a bank account but without the app working this is moot. 2.5 star review on the app store yet Abvie goes with this as their new pay system...really?! How about just making it easy for everyone and do a direct deposit to our checking accounts to save us all the trouble!

keep on trying at the next study. A lot of their studies use the same or similar compound/drug so maybe those three studies its a disqualifier while a newer one it may not be.

Hi all, so I got a screening in salt lake coming up soon. Im flying from the Midwest, wasn't very smart with my scheduling as I have a day of skiing planned the day before my screening...at close to 12,000 ft. I don't have time to acclimate to elevation and last time I was in the rockies I felt a little sluggish and maybe a head ache but not full blown altitude sickness.
Will this sudden altitude change throw my bloodwork off? I've heard rbc can go up but enough to cause concern? Any low elevation folks here get into Icon salt lake without issue?

It really depends on the study, read the consent thoroughly, when in doubt ask other subjects or a freindly staff member

Here we are in 2023 with the pandemic basically transitioned into a endemic, restrictions and mandates lifted, covid numbers way down just about everywhere, the Kraken variant not as destructive as once thought, most of us fully vaxed or immunity from getting it...YET we are still covid testing at clinics and masking the whole time even after we have negative tests?! What's up with that?!
They don't test for the flu or rsv and those are just as contagious, so why is it so necessary to ue covid testing for a trial? I'm not anti-mask or anything...they have their time and place, but when your sitting in a common area with nobody within 40 feet of you and you have no symptoms and clean covid test why enforce masking?
I know Spaulding relaxed their masking for staff and subjects last summer but as far as I know most other clinics are still pushing masks AND covid testing. If you know otherwise please advice. End rant

Thanks for the heads up on this! I do see the "chip testing" model being the future. I'm a bit torn on this decision not to test on animals as they do destroy a lot of animals (including many Beagles as they are a "more docile" breed apparently. It is a bit troubling as a test subject though..however I can't ever recall being the FIRST human to take a drug in a trial as there's always some other trial that did it first or their FDA approved already...but someone has to be the first right!? I do always read my consent and so far haven't seen a trial that is not tested first by animals but soing to look out for for sure.

Generally they don't like to keep people in house for thanksgiving and Christmas/new years as they don't want to be there as well. But sometime they do...I know celerion pays more if you are in house during certain holidays. Generally its not seasonal, and for the most part recession proof as trials are in the "pipeline" for a long time. you might find some places (especially at college towns) more compeative during winter or summer break...though a lot of lab rats like to "take the summer off" or concentrate their longer studies during the winter.

I mean I don't think this will fail your drug test BUT if your injecting it in a trial than yeah at least a 6 months ban at most places if not more.
